What I’m doing today!

IMG_8303

I’m doing this workout today, as it’s one of her ZWOWs I haven’t done yet.

Want to do it with me? I’m going to try to start posting whatever workout I’m doing, whether it’s something I mashed together or not! I like to give options. I’ve always liked a buffet. It fills my indecisive need.

This one is deceptively easy guys. Even when you are first doing it, you’re like that was five already?! Ha! This will be SO EASY. And then you get to ten… and oh man you wonder how your legs will survive and if you’ll get to fifteen at all. But, keep going and stay in form! Once you get to fifteen, just know it’s easier from there. I have to keep reminding myself that form is over time or reps. No point in the rest of it if you aren’t doing it right.

Words of advice, if you do the one leg squats (which, if they are too hard, do just regular squats), whatever surface you use (chair for me) to put the stationary leg on, make sure it’s stable. My chair was sliding all over the place until I put two legs on the dog bed. A yoga mat would help probably too. I accidentally didn’t do enough of the skaters – I did half really because of how she counted. I went and added the missing ones at the end, so my time is probably a little bit less if I had done everything at once. Make sure you glide twice and count that as 1!

My time was 14:44 (and I used no weights). Not bad! Zuzka’s was 18:18, but she used weights, and you know, counted things correctly.

Fit Test #3

I re-did this Fit Test again and my scores did improve in some spots. I’m pretty happy with these. I was also pretty wiped out afterward!

Here are last time’s scores/this time’s

Push ups: 19 / 24

High Knees: 143 / 141

Switch Lunges: 30 / 30

Burpees: 13 / 14

Jump Tucks: 36 / 48

Tricep Dips off the couch: 23 / 21

Straight abs: 20 / 24

Home workouts

I am one of those people who gets embarrassed easily at the gym. On the other hand, I also get more motivated and am more likely to push harder at the gym. I am hoping in the near future to be testing out some new gyms and classes, but that that is a story for another time.

For now, I am doing Bodyrock and Zuzka Light‘s ZWOWs. Bodyrock has, and I’m not exaggerating here, changed my life. I finally found the workout that I love doing. Though I’m still trying to get stronger and fitter, it has already transformed my body into a stronger, happier one. Giant bag of dog food? Not impossible to carry anymore. I can’t say enough good things about the site and Zuzka Light, who started out at Bodyrock. Forewarning: the images on both sites are near, if not completely, pornographic. Not my favorite part of the sites, but I am not complaining. Great, free, motivational workouts with people who have the best intentions? I will accept them as they are, just like a friend or family. They’ve weirdly enough almost become that, even though I’ve never met them or even emailed them!

This long intro is leading into what I’ll be doing tomorrow. Also, I’m sure there will be more Bodyrock and ZWOW posts from me, so a little intro was necessary.

Here is the 30 Day Challenge I will be doing starting tomorrow. They had one at the beginning of the year, and I’m proud to say I totally kicked butt. It sounds like a lot of the Bodyrock community saw great improvements in their scores. Who wants to do this one with me?
